Do you know who or what “Volt” is?
Volt is the first Pan-European party in Europe. It was founded in 2016 by the French woman Colombe Cahen Salvador, the Italian Andrea Venzon and the German Damian Boeselager.
Since they were worried because of Brexit and the growing right-wing populism, they decided to “change the way politics are taken up”. Volt wants to “empower citizens” and build a United Europe.
The party is represented in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain and the United Kingdom.
And she managed to get a seat in the European Parliament in the European Elections. Volt Germany got 0.8% of the votes, so the top candidate of Volt Germany, Damian Boeselager, is now MEP (Member of the European Parliament).
